EPA Oil and Gas
A public information site for the Environmental Protection Authority's Petroleum Department: regulations, project and permit records, downloads and news for Ghana's oil and gas sector.
About the client
The EPA's Petroleum Department was set up to manage the environmental impact of Ghana's oil and gas sector. It sits within the Environmental Protection Authority, the public body responsible for protecting and improving Ghana's environment.
What the site needed to do
A regulator publishes documents that companies, journalists and the public need to find quickly: regulations, environmental impact summaries, annual reports and the status of permits. The site had to make those findable without a phone call, and give people a clear way to make an enquiry.
What we built
- A regulations section for the department's rules and guidelines
- Project records: environmental impact assessment summaries, annual reports, status of permits and operator pages
- Downloads, a media centre for pictures and videos, and a 'Discoveries' section on wells drilled and basins
- A newsroom and blog for news and insights
- An enquiry form (inquiry, partnership or consultation) and a newsletter sign-up
- A mobile-first layout for readers on phones
Check it on the live site
Open epaoilandgas.org and you will find:
- Navigation: Home, About Us, Regulations, Projects, Downloads, Media Center, Discoveries, Blog, Contact Us
- Under Projects: Executive Summary (E.I.As), Annual Reports, Status of Permits
- An enquiry form on the homepage
- A footer credit that reads “Powered By Doctor Barns Tech”
Checked against the live site in November 2026.
